It’s challenging not to adhere to the culture of conformity that society often presents. From the time we’re young, we’re told that we need to be a certain way in order to fit in. And in order to meet that basic need which is a sense of belonging, we comply.
As a result, we end up subduing or eliminating our most unique characteristics. Our quirks become our shame. We lose confidence in our essence and become a shadow of what we were intended to be.
Are there aspects of yourself you have tucked away that speak directly to who you are? What has “fitting in” cost you?
The only traits you need to “fit in” are those of courtesy and compassion. They give you the ability to accept people as they are and give them room to do the same.
Don’t let the illusion of conformity erase your soulprint, your reason for being.
