As I flew back to DC last weekend, after a brief vacation, I couldn’t help but be reminded of a very simple life lesson. One of the flights was moderately bumpy so instead of immersing myself in panic, I took the logical route…well, most of the time.
In short, I could feel the ascension as the pilot attempted to find a smoother altitude. Even though I know it’s for the best, there’s something about climbing higher that adds to the anxiety. Eventually, everything evened out like it usually does.
In life, you can passively allow the turbulence to have its way with you as you grip your seat for a bumpy ride. Or, you can choose to actively seek a smoother level. The climb may make you nervous, but chances are, the rocky times won’t last as long as had you passively waited in fear.
How do you deal with turbulent times?
